Saturday - FOLLOWING the success of Louth's first ever children's film festival in 2007, Louth Film Club will repeat the event this year.
With films ranging from the most famous silent comedy to one of the most beautiful animated films ever made, the festival should appeal not just to children, but adults too.
The aim of the festival is to give young people in and around Louth the chance to see some great films outside the usual Hollywood fare, in the best environment.
As well as morning and afternoon screenings for school parties, there will also be public shows at the Playhouse cinema's regular evening time of 7.30pm.
On Monday, June 16, Azur and Asmar - the Prince's Quest, a dazzling new film by animator Michel Ocelot, will be shown; on Tuesday, June 17, two of Buster Keaton's best films - The General and The Scarecrow - will be screened; and on Wednesday, June 18, A Little Princess, by director Alfonso Cuaron, completes the line-up.
There will also be a showing of the animated version of Roald Dahl's BFG.
Leaflets giving details of the evening shows are available from Off the Beaten Tracks record shop in Aswell Street, Louth, as well as the Playhouse Cinema and the Tourist Information Centre.
