Thursday, 10.30am: A FESTIVAL of reading, writing and performance will be held in the county between October 13 to October 31.
The Wolds Words festival committee has announced the programme for this year's event has been finalised.
Last year, the festival attracted more than 2,000 people and this year the organisers are keen to create another exciting collection of events to entice and delight visitors of all ages.
This year's festival will see stars such as Robert Powell, star of BBC drama Holby City, who will perform an evening of readings and music inspired by the genius of Charles Dickens, Rudyard Kipling, Thomas Hardy and Edward Lear.
Dan Cruickshank, architectural historian, will also make an appearance, and will recount the adventures of his travels through 36 countries in four and a half months.
Wolds Words 2008 will feature new partners, including Louth Museum, Louth Fair Trade Group and the Alford Manor House.
They will present events such as Funkenstine, a Historical Lincolnshire workshop, a talk about researching family history and a performance by Mikron Theatre, looking at the history of the Co-operative movement, as well as a fair trade market and street entertainment.
Other events will include Toby Hadoke's one man show Moths Ate My Dr Who Scarf, Joolz Denby performing her work accompanied by Mik Davis of young band New York Alcoholic Anxiety Attack, and Lincoln-based Grahame Lloyd, who will perform his one man show Football Fanatical, celebrating the beautiful game in poetry and music.
