EDITOR - I was driving along Ancaster Avenue, Chapel St Leonards, observing the speed limit and was about to overtake a mobility scooter when, without warning, the rider pulled out in front of me and sped across the road into a driveway on the opposite side.
No apology and no acknowledgement as we narrowly missed colliding.
Surely it is about time these elderly riders were forced, like the rest of us, to take a test to learn the rules of the road?
They can be just as much of a menace as 'boy racers' and the consequences just as tragic.
I appreciate the elderly and disabled need these scooters but they have a responsibility to ride safely and be aware of other road users.
