EDITOR - With reference to the article on Bad Gandersheim and the town twinning – yes it is a good way to raise the town's profile but Bad Gandersheim, like Skegness is suffering economically.
I have visited our twin town on several occasions and stayed in local hotels eating in local restaurants thus supporting the local economy rather than being hosted by a 'local' family.
So many 'twinners' choose to be hosted be families and while this gives a 'cheap jolly' it does not support a suffering economy. Our local hotels (like Bad Gandersheim) need business.
John Byford
East Lindsey District Councillor
