EDITOR - Regarding the Tower Gardens. What is wrong with the area - leave it alone.
The past weeks have shown that families need an area where they can relax in the sunshine with their children without having to spend, spend, spend.
The grass is perfect for all, the weekend bands and entertainment are perfect, the swings and
climbing frames are just right for little ones to gain confidence without being pushed around and ice creams are close by, why spoil it?
People cannot afford to pay for all the new amenities and once these places are built the smaller businesses and hotels will have to close.
When they have gone and it is realised what a huge mistake the changes are it will be too late to get them back.
What will happen to all the smaller hotels? Just look around at some which have had to close already, the family holiday resort will be no more.
I hope our district council will not be bullied into selling off our biggest family assets, the Tower Gardens (even part of it) and the South Parade with the gardens, boating lake, bowling greens etc.
Get your thinking caps on and come up with something which will enable families and everyone to enjoy these sites for many years to come.
