EDITOR - I read with interest and dismay the fact Ingoldmells and Chapel St Leonards have been given CCTV and Spilsby has not.

If you went back through the minutes of Spilsby Town Council you would see various proposals to attempt to get CCTV in the town.

Almost all of these proposals were only accepted after strong opposition by Coun Jim Swanson and others. One of the greatest fights was to get the £50,000 ring fenced for this cause, I only hope that money is still there and has not been squandered.

We see all the other towns being subsidised by East Lindsey District Council but no monies coming to Spilsby.
Is it not time Spilsby had someone to speak up for it before it is too late? Shoppers are being driven away by parking charges, market traders are being driven away by increased charges and in this economic climate empty shops are increasing.

For goodness sake give Spilsby a chance before it is too late.
