EDITOR - Re 'Jolly logo used on political leaflets', page 5, last week's Standard.
Although I don't support the BNP in making use of the Jolly Fisherman logo without permission, I must say I think the rules on the logo are a little bit strict.

The copyright to the image may reside with the council, but I feel that Jolly belongs to us all. I think his use should be allowed by anyone so long as it doesn't bring the town into disrepute; and furthermore, I don't think it should be charged for.

He's the emblem of the town - put him back in the public domain.
