EDITOR - Skegness is missing out on more than it is gaining and it is becoming a bit of an embarrassment.
I recently visited Great Yarmouth.
All I can say is no wonder it has a soaring trade. It was clean, there were attractions all the way along the seafront, and there was something there for all ages. It was such a pleasure to walk down the front with
no graffiti, no drunks and dossers about, no teenagers getting into mischief because they are bored.
This town has such potential yet it is going to rack and ruin because the council is stuck in the stone age.
I drove past the old Kwik Save site which would make a fantastic ice skating rink. This would make money all year round.
Regarding the gardens on the front and by the promenade, if the council cannot afford to hire gardeners, get the local police and probation services onto it. Community service could be targeted there and they would be looking lovely in no time.
Open up the waterway again, those boats always used to be full. The Sunshine pool could be filled with water or plants.
You see what councils fail to realise is to make money you have to invest it first. People don't want arcades and pubs they want something new, something different.
