Sunday, 9am - ANDERBY was a buzz with visitors for the first scarecrow and open gardens weekend.
Over thirty properties throughout the village and creek took part in the event, with lots of wacky creations, from pole dancers and Status
Crow to skydivers and wind-turbine watchers.

Human Worzel and Aunt Sally lookalikes entertained villagers and car passengers throughout the weekend and seven open garden owners received numerous visitors with admiring comments on their gardens.

Judges had difficult decisions in finding overall winners and the scarecrow category went to the pirate display at Riviera, a beach front house, with a close second place to Dunfore Nursing Home, at Germander in the village.

The open garden category went to the unique Anderby Springs garden owned by Jill Dunning, with a close second to Ann and Karen at Priory Farm.

The weekend was highly successful, bringing lots of interest to the village and creek with more than £1,000 being raised for village hall funds.
