Tuesday, 9.27am - A SURVEY of GP surgeries in Lincolnshire has shown improvements in patient satisfaction and experience.

The NHS Information Centre survey shows improvements in patients' ability to contact their surgery, get an appointment within 48 hours and book appointments in advance.

Eighty-eight per cent of people in Lincolnshire who wanted to see a particular GP reported they could, a fall of one per cent in the county on last years' figures.

Edie Butterworth, director of quality and involvement at Lincolnshire Teaching Primary Care Trust (PCT), said: "We are pleased to continue working with GP practices to improve access. Already 70 out of 102 GP practices in Lincolnshire are offering extended opening hours to enable patients to see their GP at more convenient times."

Lincolnshire PCT has encouraged practices to offer greater flexibility to patients ahead of national arrangements coming into place.
