Tuesday, 9.25am - A PETITION against post office closures in Skegness will be handed to Prime Minister Gordon Brown on Friday, October 17.
The Sea View Road and Drummond Road branches are due to close next week, but the Skegness community is not giving up hope of overturning the decision and will march on Downing Street.

Mayor Coun Neil Pimperton, deputy mayoress Pat Phillips and town clerk Tony Cumberworth will be joined by Del Claxton, who has led the fight against the closures in the town, for the appointment.

Members of the community believe Post Office decided to close the branches before the six-week consultation period closed and would like the government to change the decisions.

A 57-seat coach has been organised to travel to London, leaving Skegness Town Hall at 6.30am, and people are invited to go along to show support.

As there is only one coach going though, seats will be taken on a first come first served basis.

* To put your name down for a seat on the coach, contact Del Claxton, tel 01754 761206, or Coun George Saxon, tel, 01754 764933.
