Students tackle travel issues on film

Wednesday, 1.05pm - PUPILS from Skegness Grammar School took part in a competition, putting their ideas about travel issues in Lincolnshire on film.
Lincolnshire County Council asked schools from across the county to take part, with issues such as climate change, peak oil, congestion, health, fitness and obesity being the main topics.
Five different scripts were chosen, including one from Skegness Grammar School, and pupils were given a video camera to make their film.
The five films were showcased at the new EMMTEC building at the University of Lincoln, and the winners were St George's College, Sleaford, and Kelsey Primary School, near Market Rasen.
Coun William Webb, executive councillor for highways, presented awards to the students of Skegness Grammar School, and commented: "It is clear the children involved are very aware of the big issues that surround sustainable travel.
"This is an important topic for Lincolnshire's future, especially in a large rural county like ours".
