SPILSBY WI members enjoyed a harvest supper at their September meeting.
Mel Clark took charge of the auction of produce, preserves and pies, which went ahead with lots of bids and banter and everything was sold.
A senior member Ivy George was congratulated on the anniversary of 70 years of marriage. The competition was a homemade apple pie and was won by June Cauldwell, second was Margaret Hudson, and third was Jean Woodward. All the pies entered looked scrumptious and deserved to win.
A leaflet titled First Contact was handed to all at the meeting, which offered free advice and information for people over 60.
The next meeting will be on October 9 at 7pm . The speaker will be Jackie Newborough and the competition will be an old book.
