A strong team performance built upon an excellent 98 from Ricky Lovelace enabled Friskney to cruise to a 115-run victory over Burgh.
First to bat, Friskney overcame the early loss of Donduncan to the sixth ball of the afternoon to post a decent 175 for 4 off their 40 overs.

Burgh's attack struggled to maintain good line and length, being fortunate that the slowness of the pitc
h rendered Friskney's attempts to increase the run-rate scratchy and fraught with peril. In company with Baxter, Lovelace nevertheless forged on, the pair adding 109 for the third wicket and seizing the initiative for their team.

Having been dropped before reaching double figures, Lovelace nearly reached three figures but blotted his copybook right at the crucial moment. Oh so fortunate to be given not out caught behind, a hitherto uncharacteristic rush of guilty swipes opened the door and Archer bowled the opener behind his legs.

With the pitch further softened by a few light showers, Burgh comprehensively failed to meet the challenge laid down, batting with all the rustiness of early season.

Burgh's batsmen could not adapt to the conditions, never gaining a foothold upon which to construct a meaningful reply. Only Peter Blackmore reached double figures as his fellows returned to the pavilion in rapid sucession. Five out of the six bowlers used by Friskney claimed at least one wicket, Bell the most effective with 3 for 13, as the visitors were bowled out for a mere 60.
