Sunday - Paul Fryer headed to Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire for rounds 5 and 6 of the Derby Phoenix Championship.
For the first race Fryer was 9th on the grid. At the start Fryer missed a gear dropping him back to 15th. As he battled back up to 7th Cooper flew passed but Fryer fought back going over the mountain pushing Cooper wide, however Fryer held on to 7th as he raced across the finishing line.
For the second race Fryer was on the 2nd row of the grid and managed to stay with the leaders at the start of the race. Bray came by Fryer after a couple of laps and Fryer sensibly tagged onto him in order to keep 6th place and a decent set of points.
The next day Fryer was 6th on the grid. At the start Fryer had to take avoiding action to miss a stricken rider but refused to let this near miss faze him and tagged onto the leading pack in 4th place. Unfortunately the red flags came out and Fryer finished the shortened race in 4th.
For the last race Fryer was 4th putting him on the front row of the grid. Fryer got a fantastic start and was leading as they all hurled into the first corner. As the race progressed it was getting obvious that Fryers bike had developed a problem as fellow competitors were just flying passed him on the fast straights and Fryer crossed the line in a disappointing 6th.
The next meeting will be at Anglesey in Wales.
