Sunday - THE last game of the current Skegness Soccersixes Thursday night league saw an awful rain-filled night which was more suitable for water polo than football!

In the first division, BBT got proceedings underway with an emphatic 5-1 win against Cleaners. Scoring an early goal settled the lads and they went on to dominate proceedings and run out comfortable winners.

Credit to the Cleaners who battled for the whole game and got a deserved consolation goal late on.

Runners-up in the league, Barry Fry, completed their season with another emphatic win against Six of a Kind.

The lads managed to knock in half a dozen without reply, but again credit to Six of a Kind who battled on in difficult circumstances.

Trojans completed a rout against an out of sorts Woodies, winning by 5-0.

The game started at a fast pace with both sides looking capable of scoring goals, but it was Trojans who seized the initiative and scored first.

Woodies seemed to fade badly in the second half, enabling Trojans to win comfortably, and put themselves as contenders for next season.

The last game of a very wet night saw a five man Sweet FA take on champions Skegness RUFC.

RUFC started well and were soon 2-0 up, and Sweet FA looked to be heading for a thrashing, but the lads battened down the hatches and despite a man disadvantage, played some good football, but eventually lost 3-1.

The game of the night in the Premiership saw champions Skegness Warriors take on the Boro Busby Babes.

Despite being little to play for except pride, it provided an excellent game, with end to end football.

Both teams went for the win, and there were numerous chances, with both keepers playing well.

In the end, the champions just managed to nick it, edging out the Babes by the odd goal in five.

New six-a-side teams are wanted for the new season, which starts next
Thursday, and also for the Sunday night league.
