SKEGNESS moved into the second round of the National Vase cup after powering past visitors All Spartans.
It was the Skegness backs that struck the first blow as a
pre-planned move resulted in Kime scoring in the corner.
Halliday again proved his worth at stand-off as he scored two classy tries, the first from a chip kick which he grounded to score and the second showing his pace and skill to score after a dummy.
Spartans kicked a late first-half penalty to pull back some of the deficit.
The second-half began strongly for the home side as they continued to score tries and punish Spartans' indiscipline. Cummings was next to score as he joined the line running straight. With a two-man overlap he trusted himself and just scored a good team try.
Spartans scored their first and only try after an error gifted their flanker a score near the posts, which was converted.
They later added to their total by kicking a penalty after a
rare moment of seasiders' indiscipline.
Kime picked up a shoulder injury and Harris entered the game. He had an immediate impact as he scored a try wide on the right of the pitch after more quick ball and deceptive running from Haigh.
Pollock's incisive running from the back of rucks and scrums produced one of the best tries. His timely run was found by Divilly and Pollock screamed through a hole in the Spartan defence. Cameron in support from the opposite wing received a pass from Pollock and Cameron then beat the last defender to score under the posts.
Pollock later scored a try of his own as he rolled off a maul five metres out, which was set up by Spiers and Bignell.
Smith, last week's hat-trick hero, added more points to his season's tally by converting three tries and two penalties.
Skegness 1st XV: Cummings, T. Hill, Horner (Brown), Spiers, Jackson, Bignell, Pearson, Machin, Divilly, Halliday, Kime (Harris), Haigh (Delafontaine), Smith, Cameron (Taylor), Pollock.
Next week Skegness entertain North Hykeham in the league.
